AI Assistant Policy

In simple terms: the AI assistant helps you find things along your route in plain English. It can be wrong, it isn't professional advice, and using it to do anything harmful will get the feature (or your account) suspended.

This policy applies to all interactions with the RouteGems AI Assistant and forms part of our Terms & Conditions.

Availability and fair use

• The AI Assistant is available on designated subscription tiers.
• We may apply reasonable usage limits — including per-minute, daily or fair-use limits — to keep the feature fast and available for all subscribers. Automated or scripted querying is not permitted.

The nature of AI responses

• Responses are generated automatically. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, or misunderstand your request.
• Responses are general information, not advice. They are not legal, medical, financial, engineering or nutrition advice, professional cycling coaching, or emergency guidance.
• Suggestions about routes, amenities, equipment, food, water or accommodation must not be your sole basis for any decision affecting your safety. Verify anything important — especially water sources, opening hours and accommodation — before relying on it.
• Amenity results reflect the mapping data available to us at the time; places close, move and change without notice.

What you must not do

You must not use the AI Assistant to:

• generate or attempt to generate illegal, harmful, abusive, hateful or harassing content;
• create malware or assist with unauthorised access to systems or data;
• infringe copyright or other rights, or submit material you have no right to use;
• impersonate any person or organisation, or create fraudulent or deliberately misleading material;
• generate spam or bulk unsolicited content;
• attempt to bypass, probe or defeat safety measures, including prompt-injection attacks;
• attempt to extract our system prompts, underlying data, or information about other users;
• reverse-engineer the feature or use it to build a competing dataset or service;
• overload or interfere with the Service.

Your submissions

• You are responsible for the text and information you submit.
• Don't submit sensitive personal information — about yourself or anyone else — unless it is genuinely necessary. Finding cafés on a route never needs anyone's personal details.
• You retain ownership of what you submit. You may use AI responses for lawful personal purposes.

Conversations and data

Queries are processed by our AI provider to interpret your request (see the Privacy Policy). We do not store your conversations server-side beyond short-lived operational logs, and our provider does not use them to train its models.

Enforcement

Depending on severity, misuse may lead to: a warning; suspension of AI features; suspension or termination of your account. Serious unlawful misuse may be reported to authorities where required.
