How do I get my route onto my cycle computer?

For Garmin there are two good paths. Via Garmin Connect and Send to Device: export GPX — Garmin Connect re-plans it into a course and every stop arrives as a course point. (Garmin Connect currently has a bug importing FIT courses — imported FIT files, including Garmin's own exports, show 'invalid file' on Edge devices — so use GPX there until Garmin fix it.) Over USB: export FIT — Garmin's native course format, with every stop as a typed course point and icon — and copy it into the Garmin/NewFiles folder on the device. For Wahoo, Hammerhead and other head units, export GPX and load it through their companion app.
